Why Malaga?
Malaga is a cosmopolitan, coastal city with great music, art, culture and gastronomy and a fun and safe nightlife. It also has all the benefits of being close to fabulous beaches with crystal clear water and beautiful sand. Additionally, if you choose to study here, you are ideally located to get out and explore the whole of the region using the high-speed train links, motorways or even the international airport.
As the destination for your learning experience, this safe and sunny city is hard to beat – whatever your age and whatever your interests!
How do I know how many hours to choose?
That depends on how long you want to stay with us and how much time you want to dedicate to the course. Often students who choose to stay for one or two weeks will pack in as many classes as possible with an intensive timetable, whereas those students who are here for a few months select a more chilled out rhythm. But, it really depends on you!
How many students will be in my class?
Our classes tend to be between 6 and 10 students. Enough to have fun but not too many for each student to have plenty of attention from their native teacher.
The maximum number of students in the Intensive 20 course is 10 people.
The maximum number of students in the 5 or 10 extra classes is 6 participants.
What is the timetable for the classes?
All our classes normally take place in the morning, from 9:15 to 13h (with a break of 25 min). How many hours you select will determine when you finish: 20 classes, 25 classes, and 30 classes. Our classes tend to take place in the morning so that you can make the most of our fabulous Cultural Program in the afternoons and evenings. From guided tours to museum visits, wine tasting, flamenco shows and much more. Lessons may be in the afternoon during periods of high occupancy.
Will my course be accredited?
Yes your course is accredited. International House schools offer the option of validating and transferring credits to European and North American universities.
What are ECTS credits?
ECTS stands for European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System. It is the system used by the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) to regulate and guarantee the quality of certified studies. Each ECTS credit corresponds to at least 25 hours of work, including not only hours spent in class but also hours spent studying and completing tasks.
Can I customise my course?
In addition to selecting how many hours you want to study, you can also add our supplementary courses to your afternoons to help boost your skills. For example:
A great add on course if you want to work on fluency and accuracy in a dynamic conversation class environment.
A special course with an expert teacher who will show you the strategies you will need to succeed on the day – whatever your level.
What if I don’t know my Spanish level?
Before you arrive you’ll need to take a level test. To do this, you’ll be sent a link to an online Spanish test. Then, before your arrival, we will schedule a whatsapp/facetime call to do an informal interview with our Head of Studies, (you’ll have an informal interview with one of our Spanish teachers) to evaluate not only your Spanish level but also your goals for studying with us. This will allow us to place you in the perfect class to achieve your objectives.
What is the content of my Spanish course?
Our intensive Spanish courses are based on textbooks from the publisher Difusión for levels A1 to B2. For level C1, we use the Vitamina textbook from the publisher SGEL, along with our own supplementary materials used by our teachers. You can see the course content by level and language skills here
